Review of “Green Lantern”

We chose to see “Green Lantern” today mainly because he has always been my favorite DC comics hero. The character has been around since the 1940’s but only today’s CGI could accurately depict on the screen what Green Lantern’s ring could do.

Shari and I both liked “Green Lantern”, but we enjoyed “Thor” more.

I think the problem was the movie was hard to follow because it abruptly jumped from one subplot to another. I also thought the beginning was too slow.

“Thor”, on the other hand, was easy to follow, exciting, and to us a lot more interesting.

Roger Ebert hated “Thor” and gave it only 1 star out of 4, but he liked “Green Lantern” more and gave it 2 ½ stars.

We loved “Thor” and gave it 5 stars.

We still liked and recommend “Green Lantern”, but we give it only 3 stars out of 5.

Next, we plan to see “Super 8” or “X-Men”.

Oh, we saw trailers to two promising movies -- “The Help” and “Horrible Bosses”.
